BRAND

"Isochronous" is defined as "a repetitive phenomenon occurring at equal time intervals" (from the Greek "iso" and "chronos"). An oscillating motion is isochronous when its frequency is steady regardless of its amplitude. Isochronous describes namely the movement of a pendulum or of the hairspring, the heart of our timepiece. The earth's rotations around its axis and around the sun are also isochronous phenomena determining the duration of the day and of the year. The time measurement by astral observation has preoccupied man since his origin. In a certain manner the wheels of a mechanical watch movement are the reflection of the mysterious celestial wheels, both being isochronous. The microcosm of a watch movement makes us dream and provides us with the same frame of reference as our astral envelope. The mechanical watch movement is a miniaturization of our cosmos and therefore brings to us much more than just the reading of time. It fills us with wonder and fascination.

Human genius first created an autonomous mechanism for measuring time in the XIVth century. The first watch having a hairspring mechanism dates back to 1675. This type of mechanism since then has been continuously improved and is an inexhaustible source of creativity for technological and artistic expression. The logo representing the Four Winds underlines the link between our planet Earth and our timepiece, both having isochronous motions that are in phase. The window on the back of the watch captures our eye which is lost in the magic of the mechanical movement. One can see the oscillating mass carrying the Four Winds symbol, laser engraved through a multilayer coating.

While production is limited to an edition of only one hundred, the integration of your initials on the dial makes your timepiece truly one-of-a-kind. In this way we wish that your ISOCRON will fascinate and please you with its originality and exclusivity.
